Question
I am currently watching a dog for a friend he knows me very well but i believe he has an eye infection.  red, watery, a bit of discharge.  anyway he's rubbed them until they are raw and bleeding at top. i took him to his vet but he was scared and wouldn't get out of car, (growling, showing teeth, barking, etc). he a boxer so the vet came out to look at him- this was before the raw spots came up- and he said he should be ok until the owner gets back. his dad will be home wednesday and he growls at me when i try to saline them or wipe them.  should i wait or can you give me some advise on how to treat him safely.  wanted to help this poor guy but i know he senses im scared.

Answer
I would get a muzzle for him.  Once he is wearing the muzzle you wont have to worry about getting bitten and you'll be able to take him back to the vet and get him out of the car properly and safely.  The vet may even have one you can borrow.  This in all honesty seems like the best way to deal with this aggressive behaviour.  The muzzle wont hurt him and I'm sure your friend will be thankful for you making so much effort to get the big guy seen by a vet.
hope this helps
