injured leg

Question
I have a 2 year old rottweiler and he has an incredibly high pain threshold. Today he was jumping up on the couch and I believe he twisted something. He walks with a limp and cries when he gets into or out of a sitting or lying possition. I have felt around and he does not respond or even jerk when I touch his leg or foot. Should I take him to the vet or wait a few days?  If I wait a few days is there anything I can give him to help with the pain? There is no swelling and he is able to put weight on it so I do not believe anything is broken I just hate to see my baby lying around because he is very energetic. Thank you

Answer
Hi Angela :-)

It sounds like your Rottweiler may of injured his upper leg muscles or pulled/strained a ligament. This can cause a great deal of pain in all dogs.

It is a good idea to take him to the Vets tomorrow as soon as possible so he can have a thorough check up and just to make sure there isn't any more serious damage.

Meanwhile give him half a tablet of baby Asprin and this should help with his pain but he does need to go to the Vet tomorrow for a check over and examination.

Take care and all the best and please rate me.
