Lab in kennel for 3 weeks...

Question
Dear Nancy, We have to be gone from our home for three weeks due to medical reasons. Our 2-year-old yellow lab will need to be left at the vet's kennel for all of that time.  It is a nice kennel and they have boarded her in a run since she was very young but for no more than a long week-end at a time.  She is a house dog and is spayed.  We play with her often and she is like a child to my husband and me.
How might a three week stay affect her?  We know of nobody who wants to keep a young lab, and we were afraid that she should not be left unsupervised in our home even though we might be able to pay someone to come in and feed her twice a day. What can we expect that might be detrimental to her in the long term?  What signs of stress might she develop? We are worried about our "baby".  Thanks for your answer.  Sincerely, Mary

Answer
Hi Mary...well if i am being honest, then you need to know your dog is going to be going through seperation anxiety. She will come home possilby with the runs and a few minor issues. But she will be ok and it will be stronger for the next time.
good luck
