what to fee dog?

I have a new snouzer (not the way to spell it)  she is not a puppy ...what and how much and when should she be feed...i have been leaveing feed in front of her at all times

One should never free-feed as the dog will think the food just "grew" there, rather than realize that all things good come from you, the Alpha. This is particularly true with schnauzers who are usually quick to take advantage of an owner for laxity in being Alpha.

How much to feed depends on whether or not a dog is intact or not (intact needs a bit more), its size, its activity level, and the quality of the food. I feed Eagle Original by Eagle Pet Products, a product I consider to be the best. Their Holistic Chicken and Holistic Fish are also excellent. Canidae and Wellness are some other good products. I feed my dogs once a day in the morning because that suits my schedule the best. Some owners prefer feeding their dogs in two feedings, or once in the evening after work. This really doesn't matter; just do whatever works the best for you.

In the case of Eagle, I would start out with 2/3 cup and evaluate the dog on a weekly basis, and after a period of time adjust the amount up or down, as needed. You do not want to SEE the dog's ribs, but you want to feel them easily by just laying your hands on the dog's ribcage. Keeping her slightly on the thin side is the BEST; one must be particularly careful with schnauzers as being overweight can easily lead to problems such as pancreatitis and diabetes.
