i have a male bejionpoo 5 yrs old, he has had hot spots since hes puppy recently in the last few months they have been very bad he rips his hair ou t i have to keep him coned all the time  i no all about allergies hes had shots they help for a shor time only he is on allergy food what could be causing him to do this and how can we control it without spending a fortune at the vet thank you alexis

3 rules:

1     absolutely  NO FLEAS,  even one flea bite can make them eat themselves like that.  
     use either advantage or frontline, or comfortis.  If you use advantage or frontline make
     sure when you wash him you use soap free shampoo   or you will wash off the flea treatment

2     get a vitamin/MINERAL supplement   this will take up to four months to work

3     get some omega three fatty acids and start using them on his food.   

also if you wash his bedding a lot, change your detergent to one that is for babies just in case that is causing itching.
