Question
Hi Patti!
I have a 10 month old Rottweiler, called Bebee :) I raised him with allot of love and affection and treated him like a baby boy! His a very smart boy, But unfortunately i had to move out of my home and into an apartment :( .His now living with my best friend and he works at night, which makes it very difficult to see bebee. My best friend and myself have raised him and been around him the whole time! My question is, will he forget me, or will we loose th bond we once had???? Im so upset about the whole thing that it consumes me! It must sound crazy, but i love him dearly, and regard him as my best friend and my little boy! Thanks Patti, for taking the time to read this and the effort to respond!

Kind Regards,

Olivera

Answer
Hi Olivera,

I don't think you need to worry that Bebee will forget you, or love you less!

You always hear about lost dogs that find their way home, even if it means they walk many miles across the country to get there.  You and Bebee will pick up just where you left off, as though you never were separated at all, when you finally can be reunited.

In the meantime, Bebee probably is missing you, as much as you miss him. It can help him if he could have something of yours to keep with his bedding (at your friends house). The next time you have a chance to see Bebee, bring him an old sweater or some such thing, that he can snuggle up to, and feel secure.

You might also ask your friend to give you a copy of his house key, so when your schedule allows you can visit your dog, even if it's during a time when your friend is at work.

Best of luck,

Patti
