Just got a beagle puppy, quick question! :-)

Hi- just wondering what it means when the beagle walks on its hinds legs... Our puppy is 8 months old & we never taught her to do so... She greets us like this & walks shortly on her hind legs. Or if we are sitting on the floor she stands by us on her hind legs, then puts her front paws on our shoulders to get to our faces & sniff... Just wondering why the whole hind leg thing? Is it a trait with the specific breed? Any other helpful advice or knowledge on the hind legs walking would be great! Thank you!

Wow that's pretty cool. I've heard of a standard poodle doing that but never a beagle! I would just have to say that it's an odd character trait of a FEW dogs most of whom have been trained to do it. You should get some videos and send them in to Letterman and other places. Pretty awesome, enjoy!
