Bumps on my dogs nose and ears

Question
QUESTION: Hi Cindi.  I have a 5 year old pit bull.  For a few months he has developed bumps on his ears and now his nose and his nose has been runny.  No coughing or congestion.  We took him to the vet twice already and he had a temp the first time, gave him antibiotics, he seemed to be better for a few days then it came back so we took him again.  More antibiotics, but two this time.  He is almost finished with the antibiotics and he is starting to show the runny nose symptoms again.  Also the bumps on his nose have appeared to have moved back some.  My husband thinks this is allergies, my vet doesn't seem too concerned, but he said the next step would be to take a biopsy of the bumps.  Any thoughts or ideas?  I hate my poor little guy being under the weather and I'm scared this is something serious.  His appetite and mood are fine by the way.

ANSWER: I have to wonder about strep. He definitely needs to do a skin scraping to find out what's going on and then possibly a biopsy,
Let me know how it goes,
Cindi

QUESTION: Thanks Cindi.  I am definately making another appointment for him.  Is strep something serious?  Is it treatable?  Will the biopsy hurt him?  Sorry so many questions.

Answer
Oh DUH I'm so sorry I meant staph and no it's not serious., Just needs the correct antibiotics to treat it so that it doesn't keep coming back.
It can be difficult to get rid of and impossible if the right antibiotics are not used,
Please forgive my typo (strep rather than staph) one of those blonde moments I suppose :)
