Question
I found a Boston terrier puppy on puppyfind.com the breeder stated akc registered puppies so i sent a 250 dollar deposit and then met the breeder 1/2 way between Houston Texas and Austin Texas... to finish paying for the puppy and take here home the puppy is beautiful but she (the breeder) states that the sir was given to her from a friend going through a divorce and the husband of the friend want release the papers of the sir unless he gets 2 puppies... then she starts telling me of ckc registration I
went on line and researched ckc... Man this is a predicament I took the puppy on the hopes this breeder can come through with the akc papers on the puppy... if not should I report this breeder and do I have legal ramifications I can pursue due to me paying for akc regisered puppy and now I might get ckc papered puppy...or non at all The breeder seemed honest we met in person even discused breeding my akc registard male boston with her akc registard female...

Answer
Hi Larry,  yes you should report the breeder to the AKC as it is a violation to sell puppies as AKC registered and then not have the papers.  By AKC rules, they have to hand over papers when you hand them the money.  Also, you do have legal ramifications because an AKC registered dog is worth a lot more money than CKC and of course not registered at all.  The breeder needs to refund you part of your money as you did not get what you were offered.  You can take them to small claims court for misrepresenting the puppies and get your money back.  Hope this helps,
