Red gums

Question
My Lab has beautiful white teeth which I take very good care of, she went off her food two days ago and I checked her over and noticed her gums were very red.  She does not showing any signs of being ill and will eat soft foods.  She is a typical Lab and will put anything in her mouth.  Could she have cut her gums on something and what should I do?  Thanks

Answer
Get your dog into a veterinarian ASAP! This may be nothing more than a case of gingevitis, but red gums and lack of appetite can also be two of the symptoms of bloat. Don't wait around for further symptoms to find out!
