Question
My 8 year old terrier mix has a skin tag on his right elbow area. Its been checked by the vet and they said unless there are changes it is fine. Today my husband noticed it was bigger. When I took a look at it, it looks like it has filled with blood. Originally it was just pink and flat, but now its swollen and a darker red. It doesnt seem to bother my dog, ive touched it and looked at it, he doesnt even react. We just moved and haven't established a vet yet so I wanted to ask you about this, do you think it's something to worry about and get check out right away or should i give it some time to see if it gets smaller again? Do you think it could be from him bumping or scraping it or anything like that? Thankyou for your help.

Answer
I don't think this is an "emergency" situation, but I still would keep a close eye on it.  If it's in a place where he may be laying on it, or as you say bumping it, it's possible it could have become irritated.

If it doesn't improve, gets bigger, or starts bothering your dog, I would definitely find a vet to check it out.
