2 Female Dogs

Question
I have one female dog (1.5 years old, a lab/pointer mix). She is very social and high energy, and therefore gets lots of play time with other dogs as well as runs/walks. I have had her for 8 months. This summer we visited family for 2 weeks who had a dog. The dogs got a long fine, but after a few days, my dog snapped at the other dog when it approached the kitchen where we had been feeding her. She did not bite, just growled. Recently we were visiting some friends with a dog and she did not growl or do anything, but whenever the other dog went in the kitchen she watched. This made me a little nervous. I am going to visit another friend with a dog for a week in December and wanted to get some advice. Should we try and establish which dog will be the dominant one and stick to that (letting that one out the door first, eating first) etc. to avoid potential issues of trying to become the dominant dog? Any help would be great. Thanks
Thanks.

Answer
You should be the dominant in your household and with your pack. There should never be a question of a dog being dominant. Go to alpha boot camp (type into your search engine) and there is tons of information and ways to establish yourself as pack leader. You are on the right track :)
