Question
At what age does a dog lose all his Puppy (Baby) teeth? I have a Chihuahua who is a year and 2 months and he still has "hook" teeth. I think they may be called canines. Thank you in advance for any assistance you can provide.

Answer
Hi Lisa-

All dogs have Canine teeth, no matter the age. They are born with small, thinner canine teeth that fall out around 3-5 months and are replaced with adult canine teeth (just like in humans). If you are seeing two canine teeth in one socket, or you feel that the remaining canine teeth are not adult but the small weaker teeth (They would be quite small and thin) I would take him to the vet ASAP to have the baby teeth pulled.
