some kind of died bug on dog

my pomernain has some very small black things in his hair they are very small and hard i dont know if they are a bug or not help

Hi Carol,

It's hard for me to say without seeing for myself.  My quess would be that it may be flea dirt.  To see if that is right, scrap some of the "little black things" off and put them into a very small amount of water.  If the water turns a rust or reddish color than your pom has fleas.  

Let me know it this is what you find.
