peeing on household items

i have 3 cats and a lab dog, i'm dog sitting a friends dog for a few months, he's been peeing on my artifitial christmas tree, on the furniture, he's less than a year old, what can i do to prevent this? he's a blue heeler dog.

Bet he's not neutered either? Unfortunately he's likely exhibiting marking behavior Limit his food and water intake, take him outside at LEAST every two hours, confine him to a smaller area of your home until he's pottied, cut down on the water you're giving him so that he won't drink/pee all day long You can also belly band him to help with marking. Use an ace bandage and a kotex around his belly to catch the urine if he DOES mark.
