Question
How exactly do I go about shaving "Eeeeyore" my 3 yr old Male Pom? What size blade, what direction how short ect.?Is it true that I am supposed to Brush his coat in the oppisite direction?

Answer
Ohhh... pomeranians are so cute the way they are... why would you want to shave him down?

A skip-tooth 7 blade might work the best, but it really depends on how short you want the dog to be. A 7 is not the closest blade, but it is pretty darn close. (The higher the number, the shorter the cut.) You might be happier with a #4 blade, but a longer blade might have trouble getting through the coat, if he is as heavily-coated as he should be. If he is at all matted, a 7 is about the only thing that will work well. Once you clip him, his coat color will lighten up and will never look the same again. Some poms do grow back a bit patchy.

Clip in the direction of the hair growth. The coat is brushed backwards so that all the hair stands up and can be clipped evenly so that the hair doesn't look choppy.
