-----Question-----
My puppy is now 8 months old.  I have trained him to go potty out side.  and when i am not home, i have wee wee pads so that in case i am not home, he has a place to go.  He was doing really good for a while, but it seems the past month, he is constantly peeing on my bed.  I have repremanded him so he knows its bad.  And ever time i catch him, he runs away bc he knows it was bad.  How do i stop this from happening.  Its getting so frustrating where i want to get rid of the dog.  Nothing I do seems to be working.

Hi Lara;
This is very likely a spite thing to express his resentment of being left alone.
Dogs don't do as well alone as cats do. They require closer company.
Can you block off or close the door so he can't get to your bed?
could you get someone to go by during the day and play with him, maybe feed and water and take him out to poop/
I am sure it is lonliness and this is his way of tryint to get your attention.
Some tons have doggy day care, where they can be taken and play with other dogs, and have people attention during the day.
He is very young, and being alone all day, he can get very easily bored by himself.
If he is doing this when he is left alone for short periods, then he is being too much this way, and just needs to be blocked off from where he can do damage, and make sur he has some Kong Toys or Nyla Bones to chew on.
Those toys are both safe, and they can chew on them without danger of biting off a piece and choking.
At that age, he will very soon start to get his poermanent teeth, and will need to gnaw again, to help push those new teeth through, and to ease the painful gums.
If he doesn't have safe toys to chew on, he will chew on shoes or whatever gives him ease of his gums.

Answer
Hi Lara.
Could be boredom, byut probably needs a good obedience training class.
Training is as necessary for animals as it is for children.
If they don't have good training, they just grow up to be savages, just like kids do. LOL
Seriously though, good obedience training is a must.
Petsmart and Petco stores have wekend training classes, so do Man's Best Friend.
These are group classes, and that is what I like to teach better.
Group classes bond the owner and dog better, and teaches the dog the handler is the alpha, so if the handler is the owner, it just makes things go smoother at home.
Once you go through the basic classes, you have much more knowledge of how doigs think, if we can ever figure that out much.
But a quealified trainer teaches you how to get the results you want from your dog.
They are well worth their fee.
The classes usually go for 6 to 10 weeks, depending on the trainer
Usually, when the dog has a clear understanding of what is expected of it, they don't do the thingts you don;'t want them to do.
They really want to please, because they like things to gop smoothly and pleasantly for them, as well as a dog's natural tendency to want to please, but they have to be able to understand clearly what it is you want them to do.
He may think he is doing something that you will think is cute.
Or he is just doing little spiteful things to tach YOU he is the alpha.
YOU have to teach him he is not, and that YOU are mom, and he has to mind.
Raising a dog takes as much work and effort as raising children.
About the only difference is, you don't have to buy them clothes, and they will never ask to borrow the car.
They can't speak and sass back, but they can get the same results in their own way.
Training is the exxential ingredient.
Once you go through the classes, and learn how to do the training, and will be able to train any other dogs you get in the future.
