Size dog for size of yard

Question
Is there a certain amount of room (yard space) a dog must have based on it's size?

Trying to change a city ordenance to have the number of dogs based on the size of the fenced in yard instead of a set number of 3.

This is a double question in a way.   What is good for a dog and what the city ordenance says may be two different things.   And of course, there is size difference.  What a chihuahua needs would be less than a great dane.  So I cannot answer this question for you.   You would have to research each breed
