foot pads on dobie

Question
My 13 yr old doberman seems to have lost the "traction" on her foot pads.  She slides on smooth surfaces. Is there something I can get that would make them more "pliable"  They seem to just be calloused but no cracks or anything.  Thanks

Answer
Karen-

There is a substance called "Sticky paws" available online and at some petstores that you can run on a dogs feet to help them with traction. I use it on my dysplastic therapy dog whenever we go to a hospital- he just can't handle the slick floors other wise. Also, try to keep the hair trimmed down neat between the paw pads, so she isn't sliding on the hair. And give your old dobergirl a big kiss from me, I love me some dobies! :)
