Question

My dogs
I have a 5 year old Chinese crested dog that i bought off of a breeder when he was 3. I live with my mom and i live upstairs and she lives down stairs but for some reason when i go up stairs with my him and my other, neutered Chinese crested they wont pee, but if i go down stairs for 2 minutes, when i go back upstairs there is markings everywhere?! why! they have crates where they can sleep and turn around in, and they do go outside every chance I'm home but for some reason when i let them in my moms house or mine they still mark there spot even though they just came from outside?! recently he has been peeing in his cage now maybe like twice a day? they are my baby's and are always with me is it because he is stressed? or scared please help me I've searched the Internet and cant find anything i hope you can help me thank you kyns

Answer
Hi Kyns;
There are several possibilities..but, he is definitely marking his territory!
So, you will not be able to keep him in an open area when you are away...it is important that you watch him this way, you are not allowing bad habits, and or to give him negative reinforcement training with reprimands!
So, get going on a plan to leave him in a enclosed crate or an exercise area when you cannot watch him, and see if this gives you some relief.
Males do mark their territory, and this is natural!
Best regards,
Let me know how you do and what goes on.
