10 year old lab

Question
We have a 10 year old Lab that has always been friendly and loving.  Recently, she has started to snap at familiar people.  She has also started being very very aggressive with our Jack Russell puppy.  This is something so unlike her regular behavior.  Does this sound as if she is going Senile?

Answer
She could be, but I would guess it is more likely a pain issue. Have her evaluated by your veterinarian, and you might also try putting her on a glucosamine/chondroitin supplement if she isn't already.

There also seems to be a link between corn/wheat and arthritis pain; take her off of all corn products. We did this with a 12-year-old retired agility dog with arthritis in his spine and toes and stifle injuries, and he is greatly improved... most days anyway. We put him on Eagle Senior Care Formula.
