Dog swallowed tampons

This is very embarassing, but my 7-month, 78 pound Golden Retriever got
into the bathroom trash can and swallowed 3 used tampons.  Will he just
pass them or should I induce vomiting?  Thanks.

Hi Missy,

I wouldn't wait to see if the tampons pass, it's better to be safe than sorry.  Get your dog to the veterinarian immediately. The tampons can cause a serious case of obstructed bowel syndrome.

I'd say it's time to get a new garbage pail for the bathroom, maybe on with a cover!
