Question
My dog is a 8yr old border collie. He just recieved a bath the other day
and he looks very clean. yet he still stinks. Someone told when a dog is
getting sick internally that a foul odor appears. Myth or fact. I would
hate to ignore this problem if he is sick!
                  thanks,

Answer
Hi Mike,

A dog which is getting sick would act as though he's getting sick. There could be a tell- tale smell associated with some medical conditions, but there would probably be other symptoms too.

I'd be happy to answer your question but I need a little more info.

Where is the smell coming from? Is the smell strongest in your dog's mouth, ears, or his rear end?

Is your dog currently on any medications?

Does your dog have any skin problems?

How long has your dog been smelling badly?

Have you changed his food recently?

If we can determine the source of the odor I may be able to suggest a treatment. I look forward to hearing from you.
