Dogs hind leg

Question
My dog is 10, and just recently stopped jumping up on the couch or anything else as he was accustomed to doing.  He wants to, but when he tries, he gets his front paws up, but can't get his hind legs up and sometimes yelps when he tries.  Nothing seems to be broken, as he's walking on all 4 legs, and he lets me touch his legs.  Because of his age, is this the beginning of arthritis, or did he pull a muscle?

Answer
Hi Aaron;
Absolutely, this can be a sign of "Arthritis"...and any other bone degeneration..
I would put him on a "Glucosomine" product for sure, and take him to the vet to be checked for any other bone issues...they may put him on a "Fish Oil" product, and have to give him a sort of dog "Asprin" called Rymadol.
So, check it out, and hope that you can give him the relief for his aches and pains!
Best regards,
Melissa
