digging dog

Question
I have a 2 year old male German shepard that consistently digs up the same area of yard, directly under my bedroom window right next to the foundation of the house. I can fill it and seed it and then one day you go out back and the same area will be dug out approx. 1 foot out and 1 foot down. Are there any logical and fairly easy fixes to this annoyance?

ok...well lets start with the fact that if you dont leave the dog outside while you are gone, that will fix it. leave him in a crate inside instead. That is one solution. I am wondering if there is a pipe under that area. Dogs have great hearing and they can hear water in he pipes and then dig there. More importantly, are you letting him watch you repair this hole? if so, he is for sure to dig again. Lastly, if you crate him like i said, and go outside with him..if you catch him doing it, say NO sternly and when he stops praise him. Those are really the only things i can tell you from here. good luck
