Question
My 4 month old puppy seems to eat when we ar enot around. When feeding her i would tell her while she is eating to "eat your food" to get the idea that when i say thses words she should go to the kitchen to eat at schedualed times. i keept a consistancy with this, however about 2 weeks ago she stopped eating when told or even altogether on some days. She will sit at the bowl with her ears back and tail tucked and just looks at me. I need her to eat to grow properly but i do not want to be too sturn with her to scare her away. I fear i might have done that, however there must be a solution to get her to eat. I tried mixing her favorite treat into her food and that worked at first. Now she doesnt eat at all unless we leave her in the kitchen and wont let her out, even then she eats very few. What could have cause this and what should i do?

Answer
Mixing treats or human food in with the dog food can actually make the problem worse, because when they get bored with you doing that, they will do the same thing until you mix something else into it

Dogs also do this to get attention-the best thing to do,is put the food in front of her,and if she doesn't eat it within 15 minutes just pull it,usually after up to a week of this they get hungry enough and they get the hint you won't be mixing anything into it

another thing, some dogs don't like the taste of metal bowls,so you can also try switching to ceramic or plastic
