Question
My dachshund got stung by a yellow jacket, but the bee remained in her.  we noticed she kept licking and scratching and when i looked and pulled with a wipe the dead entire bee came out. now she has a wound in her side

Answer
Hi Susan;
She should recover just fine...if she does have some pain, give her a baby aspirin; or children's benydril for any fluids that can collect around the area..and to make sure she does not have an allergic reaction in her lungs...it will keep the fluid low.
In the meantime, you can put some baking soda on the site, make a paste with some water and apply it to neutralize the stingers.
And, you can put ice on it for 15 minutes in a towel again to make the swelling, and pain go away.

Let me know how she does.
By tomorrow she should be good.
You can also apply some topical antibiotics like a neosporin salve.
All these things are going to make her feel a whole lot better!
I will await to hear from you, and if you need further help, let me know.
