puppies?

hi,my 1 week old pit pups had 9 in the litter 1 didn't make it the 8 are feeding and it does not seem like the mom has enough milk should i compensate with esbilac?? she can only feed 4 at a time so we take turns feeding is that ok??

For nutritional needs consult a Veterinarian, but it is a good thing to stimulate puppies during the early days of life. So supplimental feeding will help from a behavioral point of veiw. It help the puppies develop mentally. there is a lot of information, on this. the only other concern that I have is that you stated that the mom can only feed 4 at a time this is not usual. As female dogs have more than four nipples. they should be able to provide for all the puppies without supplimentation. And if she does not start producing enough milk at this time she may have issues if you suddenly stop supplimenting the puppies. you should consult with your vet before changing any thing you are doing.
