shedding schnauzer and grooming

Question
I have a 11 month old female schnauzer that I bought in Canada. I need a non-shedding dog due to allergies. Unfortunally at 8 wks old, she had a vaginal infection that she looks like she is getting over now. She was dirty and smelled when I picked her up at 8 weeks old. ( I did my homework but didn't physically check out the breeder due to distance). After washing her with puppy shampoo..and for many months she had a strange odor(chemical-like), my friends have even noticed the odor and maybe it's stronger when she is panting . The problem is she sheds as much as a labardor. Not clumps just hairs everywhere. I vacuum every day. I brush her and I can't let her ride in my car. She has lots of outdoors, hikes, love and vet care. My vet has no experience with Schnauzers so can't help with this question as she looks healthy in all other ways.
I did clip her with an electric clippers twice. I feed her Royal Canin. Please help.

I do not have a great deal of experience with this issue as my dogs ARE shedding breeds; what I would suggest is to avail yourself of the experience of groomers; contact them and ask if they've had any experience with this, what they can suggest, etc.

Also see if there is a local Schauzer breed club nearby, or find one on the Internet and email them with your questions.  Most dog people are more than ready to help a fellow dog owner with advice.
