Question
I have a one year old cockapoo - she has been the sweetest and most lovable dog ever - well trained - very well socialized - the whole works - over the last two weeks she has become aggressive with other dogs - both big and small - first growling and today jumped on a smaller dog - i had to pull her off of her - what happened to my amazing dog?

Answer
Hi Wendy;
She is about one year now....that means she could be changing into her adult hormones!

So, she is now become the "Queen Bee" so to speak. Has she had a heat cycle yet?

You will have to watch her, if she is coming into a heat, this will change them completely.

If you are not going to breed her, then have her spayed.

If she is spayed, sometimes the hormones are still coming from the Ovaries...so, she may have a hormone surge happening.

In the meantime, you will need to work with her all over again, as if she is a puppy, and start some obedience work, so, she focuses on you, not her outside environment issues.

Go to a class with other dogs, and a skilled teacher, so, that you can get the benefit of the outside stimuli and her behavior examples.

Then follow up with me when you see what her progress has been.

I will await to hear from you again,

Best wishes,
Melissa

P.S. give me any other feedback, and or a rating please, it would be most welcomed!
