my bassethounds

Question
I just bought my 3 bassethound a kids swimming pool,because of the heat,They are out side dogs and there isn't much shade except for a tarp that i bought.
They have been swimming in the pool as if they like it,but i was wondering if after being in the sun so long and then jumping in the cold pool if it would hurt them since it lowers their body temperature fast?

If the wading pool is kept full, the water will be the temperature of the air and won't be cold at all. If you are dumping it and refilling it daily, yes, it will initially be cold (unless you are adding warmer water), but if the dogs are using it, it cannot be bothering them too much. I would imagine that when it starts feeling too cold to them, they get out for a couple minutes to warm up and then go back into the water. I wouldn't be too concerned about the temperature of the water.
