Question
Is there a way to find out if my dog is full blooded or not?

Answer
If you do not know who his parents are, then the chances are slim. Where did you get him from? How old is he? How long have you had him? What do you >>think<< he is? Could you send me some pictures of him? My e-mail address is blueridgerescue at gmail.com.

There >>ARE<< canine DNA tests that you can do, but they run anywhere from $60-$100+, and are so new that they may or may not be very reliable. I have a coupon code for a Canine Heritage XL breed test if you would like it. Of course, you would need to check the list of breeds to see if what you think your dog is is listed there, first. The list is located at: http://www.canineheritage.com/breeds.php

The coupon code is for 25% off, which would bring the price down to $89.97. It expires June 30th, so you'll have to let me know soon if you want it. You have to order it online, from the Canine Heritage web site, and they mail you the test kit, which you then mail back to them in a postage-paid envelope that is included.

There is also a blood test that can be done, but you have to take your dog to the vet to have the blood drawn and sent in. I don't know how much that costs, or if any vet can/will do it. You would just have to call and ask.
