Vaginal Prolapse (Vagina coming out)

I'm wondering if you've ever had any experience with a dog that has had a Vaginal Prolapse? Recently my went into heat and her inner vagina kinda of inverted out of her. It looks like a gross ball. Anyway we took her to a vet and he said it'll eventually go away after her heat. I've done a lot of research into the topic; nevertheless i'm still very concerned and i want to know if you or anyone you know has had any experience with it so i know what to expect and to calm my fears. Do you know when it should go away or how it will go away? Thank you.

Your Vet is right. I would agree that the hormones are causing this problem to happen...
Have you considered getting her spayed?
I would do so, it will stop this problem in the future.
