Question
My 5 year old white jack Russell's coat has just started to turn a rusty color on the lower back and tail, it does not look like a natural coloring because it keeps coming and going. is this a sign of any type of illness you know of? the skin underneath has also turned this color.

would appreciate any advice you can give.

Answer
vicky,
If he is a broken coat JR  and he doesn't even have ONE flea on him, then he needs more fat in his diet.  Get OMEGA 3 fatty acids and put at least 2 tablespoons on his food.
If he is a smooth, then he must have a flea or two on him.  Get Advantage, NOT  frontline and NOT  Avanticks.  Make sure he has NO fleas.  and that should clear up.
