Question
I have a 2 year old pitbull that just recently in the past month urinates whenever he gets excited. For example when i come home he does it and he has no control over it. It goes everywhere.  He goes to the babysitters everyday so its not like he is alone.  Its just not with me he gets excited and does the samething when i have company also. My question is why? And how do i fix it?

Answer
Generally when dogs urinate when they meet someone it is a submissive behavior.  Since he is an adult dog and this is a new behavior, it would not be a bad idea to have a urinalysis run by your vet to rule out the possibility of anything being physically wrong with him.  However, it does sound purely behavioral.  There is no way you are going to be able to make him stop doing it....scolding him will not work, this is a natural behavior in dogs.  The best solution is to ignore him when you first get home until he has calmed down and then you should be able to greet him without him urinating everywhere.  When you have company, instruct them to ignore him as well.  Usually that seems to work, but the key is to wait until he has calmed down before acknowledging him.  I hope that helps.
