Question
Hi Nancy,

I have 2 questions...
1)My boyfriend and I have a little lab mix,(Hunter)- hes a year old and under 40lbs and we feed him purina one twice a day- thats good right? Our vet told us that eukanuba and science diet are the best but that purina one is still good- do you agree?
2) My boyfriends friend has a 4 month old pure bred siberian husky and feeds him purina one also- but only once a day! Is that enough to feed a puppy? When our dog was that young, we fed him 3 times per day. I've noticed that the husky feels thin, you can feel his spine and ribs very easily but its hard to see with his fur. What do you recommend for a puppy of that breed? I am an animal lover and am very concerned about Duece!( the husky) Is this a big problem or am I just making a big deal out of it?
Thanks!

Answer
Hi,
Absolutely the husky needs more food.  Purina One is an excellent food.  I use it myself.  The husky should be on at least twice a day.  You should NOT be able to feel ribs and especially backbone.  If he goes down too far, in the back area, he could go into kidney failure.   Huskey's grow until two years old.  He can go on once a day at one year old.   Get that weight up!!! you have great instincts, Ashley, follow them.
