Rash on dogs eye

My one year old rottweiler seems to have a rash on the outside of her eye. She's losing hair around her eye but I never see her scratch. Also the inside of her eye is fine and she doesn't have any eye discharge. What home remedies can I use to help her? I heard aloe vera is good. Is there anything else?

Hi Mandie,

There are many diseases and conditions which can cause a dog to lose hair, ranging from autoimmune disorders, hereditary, Cushing's disease (hyperadrenocorticism), allergic reactions, and Seborrhea.

The best advice I can offer is to take your dog to the vet, since it's impossible to self-diagnosis this.  Treatments would vary depending on what the diagnosis is. Your dog may need treatment.
