lip infection!!

i have a standard poodle who is 13.  Her bottom right lip protrudes out and a little bit swollen.  The sore is also very hard to the touch and has turned white along the edge.  It is right where her upper K9 bits down and that has caused some bleeding.  I don't really know what it is or what it maybe from?

Thank you for writing to me about your senior poodle. It sounds from your description that there may be an infection present which means that this needs to be medically treated very quickly.  Infection can travel into the blood stream and cause death if left untreated.  I suggest that you take your dog to your vet on an emergency basis.
