letting puppy run the house with another dog

Question
how long do i have to wait to let my lab/ret puppy run the house with my other 4yr old lab dog while we are at work,and the kids are at school? The 4yr old is also the father of the puppy,which is a girl.

Thanks for your question and sorry it took so long.  When you trust that your puppy is potty trained well enough to make it all day without making an accident on your floor, I would say that would be when you would be able to tell.  As far as wondering about those 2 together all day...just make sure that the puppy isnt going to get bored and start chewing.  If they get along well outside and inside when you are home then they will  be fine when you leave.  Maybe to test it out put them in the house together while you are going to be gone for just a few hours.  Then work from there up.  Also if your male is not neutered then watch that cause puppies will come in heat anywhere from 12 to 16 months.  So just be sure that you are watching them if you arnt planning on getting her spayed.  Hope this helps.  Mail me back if you need anything else.
