Dog Flees in Prescott, AZ

Question
We live in a community that is 5,300 Ft in elevation and dry (Arizona like). We are moving into an older home and my wife is insisting that we have the house treated for flees inside and out. I have heard that there are few if any dog flees in our community (I've observed no flee  colors, no pills, etc).

What are your thoughts on this issue.

I am not sure what the fleas are like in AZ.  If she is worried about your dog getting fleas, I would suggest using Frontline Plus on the dog...cheaper then a flea treatment for the house and yard.  I guess I would take into consideration whether the last owners had dogs...maybe even talk to them and ask if fleas have been an issue in the house.  Then again, she is your wife and you will probably do whatever it takes to make her happy :) Sorry I can't be of more help.
