grooming anxiety

I have a 9 year old poodle cross that I am attempting to groom myself due to low income.  My dog does not like me trying to cut the hair on his legs and feet.  I have been bitten more than once.  Is there any OTC medicine that I can give him that will "sedate" him enough for me to finish grooming him?

Try Rescue Remedy.  I think it is meant for people.  Look for it in the natural food stores.  I am a real skeptic on ''natural remedies.''  If it is ''natural'', they can sell anything without any testing at all.  Rescue Remedy may not be tested either, but it does have a substantial history of usage with dogs without problems.  I wouldn't risk anything else.  It comes with an eyedropper.  Just give him a good squirt in the mouth a little before starting.  Be generous with treats too.
