Question
I have a 15 week old golden retreiver/german shepherd mix puppy. She is well on her way to being potty trained, except that she has a problem w/ submissive peeing. She only does it when my youngest cat (who doesnt like being a new Big Sister) "cusses" her out.She never does it w/ me. I brought my puppy home at 10 weeks and she is attending puppy kindergarten classes.
What can I do to help her solve this problem. I can see in her eyes she doesnt want to do it, but it just happens. Is there anything I can do w/ my youngest cat to help her get used to having her new baby sister around??? I have 3 other cats, who all get along w/ her fairly well. The boy cat has let her know in no uncertain terms that he is in charge. He's been the family spokescat for 15 yrs.

Answer
What often works is rubbing a towel or blanket(esp one the cat uses) over the puppy, and have the cat sniff it,or even place it where the cat sleeps as that often gets the cat used to the smell of the new dog

Also holding your cat and just letting her sniff the puppy with help, and it's a good idea to have an area where the cats can go and escape from the dog
