Question
I have read on your forum that 6c silica drops can aid in helping a dog with anal gland trouble.  I have searched the internet and still cannot locate this item.  Where can I purchase it?  My German Wirehaired Pointer has this problem.  He eats high quality food, and gets the extra fiber.  I'm trying the epsom salt soak, but would like to get the silica.  Thank you for any help you can provide.

Answer
Hi Rose,  I don't know anything about the drops;  It may have been another expert:
Here is what I do for anal gland problems:

First - Can you buy some Kellogs " All BRAN" cereal - give your dog about 1/4 a cup of this mixed with his dry food.  ( You can do this daily or every-other day)

ADD some WET canned food to your DRY Kibble each meal:
Also, lets get some canned dog food - ONLY good brands that are holistic and grain free - (
98 or 99% meat) - Innova, Wellness, Eagle Pack, Solid Gold....are all good Holistic canned/and dry dog foods.
Give 2-3 tablespoons of canned food on top of the dry food - 1-2 x per day.
Add a littl x-tra water to the food.

And last, a good supplement for you dog's diet -
NuVET Plus - Great Doggie Supplement/vitamin-
Good taste too...WAFER treat.
VERY Helpful with reduction of inflammation in the anal glad area.

I hope all this has helped.  I know you stated you are using x-tra fiber but try the All Bran.

BEST wishes on this;

I hope this has helped.
