My Daschund sleeping alot lately?

Hello, My 1yr old daschud has been sleeping alot lately. Last month he was
neutered and we also live in FL so it is extremely hot and sunny during the day.
Is this normal?  he is sleeping 80% of the daytime. He is more active during the
evening...

Average dog sleeps 20-22 hrs a day.  I'm sure it's just the summer heat getting him down, especially if he's more active in the evening once it's started cooling down.  If you're still worried, I'd recommend a vet visit and maybe bloodwork just to make sure everything is normal.  If he's lethargic all the time, it could be something medical, but it sounds like he gets active during part of the day.
