Question
Hey Doc,
Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my question, I really need some help! My dog is a big time itched... he never EVER stops... :( we have tried everything, and to start NO he does not have fleas, we have some Claritne, Steroids, bathing regularly, etc. He is on a strict diet never gets any fun treats (poor guy)... anyway I was told that MSM, may be the answer, do you have any thoughts about this? I guess I should tell you he is a Lasapoo and weights 15lbs. I really need some help for my little guy he is miserable and Idon't don't know what else to do. Thanks for any input!

Answer
Has your vet done any blood work to determine what he may be allergic to?  You need to identify the particular allergen or allergens and avoid them.  Just switching to an expensive, grain free food may not solve the problem.  The tests are expensive, but the best solution.  You could also try Science Diet Z/D.  The proteins in it are broken down to where the dog' body can't recognize the allergen.  If that doesn't eliminate the problem, look beyond food allergies.
