big dogs/ little space

Question
what breeds of large dogs (great perinise, st. bernard, rot., etc...) make good small space dogs
like for an apartment...i would walk them all the time but i want to make sure it isnt a breed that needs CONSTANT activity.

Most of the giant breeds (St. Bernards, Gt.Pers)  do well with a daily walk. Stay away from Labs, or anything in the sporting breeds. Rotts may need more exercise then you could give along with German Shepherds. Greyhounds make great apartment dogs. They really are couch potatoes. Bernese Mt. Dogs would be good also. Just remember with any breed, as pups they will demand more attention and exercise then they will later in life.
