Answer
Hi Cathy,
This can be a boredom habit or just a bad habit.  Try and pick up all piles of and tell it NO NO.
You can also get DisTaste to put into the food to help stop this habit starting.  It is not a lack of something as I have it now and then if I let a dog in the kennel too long. I always felt they were doing this to torment me as I holler, Do not do this anymore!  They know not to as my dogs get vitamins and lack nothing.  Some dogs just do this and the only way to rid of it is picking up the piles and discouraging the habit.  Keep the dog happy and well exercised and it may go away or buy the stuff for in the food at www.drsfostsmith.com or phone 800-826-7206 as two vets make this catalong of pet needs and they will advise also.

Kind Regards
