male vs. female

I currently have a 10yr. old schnauzer/male and a 2yr. old female schnauzer.  I am contemplating getting a shih tzu puppy 2 MOS. old and wonder if I should get a male or female and what behavior I might encounter?

Answer
Because you have a mixed pack already, it shouldn't matter what you bring in UNLESS your male schnauzer is unaltered, or is male aggressive. Despite common lore, altered dogs do not care who they pal around with be it male or females. They do not have the hormones to care, unless there is something else that makes them aggressive.

If your male is unaltered, then a spayed female would be a better mix.
