papillon dog

i have adopted a male dog that looks just like a papillon dog  the only thing that confuses me is he weighs 22 pound is this possible

Answer
Absolutely anything is possible when it comes to breeding dogs. He could be one that is a bit too large for the breed standard, and if you don't know his heritage, he could also be a cross-breed, and half of his parentage then could be from a larger dog.

Be sure he isn't overweight; you should be able to feel his ribs easily, but not able to see them.
