lunging at face

Question
Two months ago we rescued a wonderful schnauzer/poodle mix.  She is sweet and loving but when sitting on our laps or laying near us she lunges at our face to lick our faces or mouths.  We are at a loss as to what to do.  We consistently say no and put our hands up to stop the lunge, but to no avail...any ideas?

Answer
First I would not have her elevated until she has a better understanding of what she needs to do instead of trying to grab your muzzle. If she does lunge, wordlessly remove her. Everytime she does this kick her out of the party promptly and without emotion.

Another option would be to put it on cue and only allow it when you ask for it. I would string a few behaviors together like "sit" look" kiss', so you at least have some warning when she is getting tready to do that uninvited.
